NTL WRESTLING: KAPEC'S TITLE LEADS THE SULLIVAN COUNTY CONTINGENT AT THE NORTH SECTION CHAMPIONSHIPS (February 15, 2026)

WELLSBORO — Sullivan County’s Andrew Kapec claimed a North Section title, while the Griffins pushed five to districts from the North Section Championships on Saturday.

Kapec (133) claimed gold with Carter Reis (285), and Wyatt Bagley (139) both taking home silver.

Luca Zelewicz (114), and Tucker Evans (160) both finished fourth to qualify for districts.

Kapec got two first period falls, pinning Wyalusing’s Cole Patrick in 1:24 to take first.

Reis got a late fall in the semifinals to reach the finals, where he was pinned by Williamson’s Luke Sottolano in 1:55.

Bagley went 2-1 to take silver, falling 17-2 to Towanda’s Hagen Jones in the title bout.

Zelewicz went 0-2 to take fourth, with Evans going 2-2 as he was pinned by NEB’s Kale Howland in the third place match in 2:11.

Dylan Gilbert (127) took fifth with Chase Preston (145), and John Tabor (152) both taking sixth.

Gilbert went 2-2, Preston went 1-3, and Tabor finished 0-3.

David Lentz (215), Maverick Pennella (107), and William Bogart-Rodriguez (172) all went 0-2.
