NTL WRESTLING: EARLE, VANDERPOOL CLAIM NORTH SECTION TITLES AS WYALUSING TAKES SECOND (February 15, 2026)

Northern Tier Sports Report
WELLSBORO — Wyalusing crowned two champions at the North Section Tournament Saturday as they came in second as a team.

The Rams finished with 173.5 points just behind Towanda (180.5) as the two teams battled it out throughout the day.

Ethan Vanderpool (189) and Jonathan Earle (152) both came away with gold as Cole Patrick (133), Daniel Fox (215), and Isaiah Harvey (114) all claimed silver.

Conner Earle (172), Logan Wood (107), and Reuben Kinney (145) took home bronze, while Griffin Sheldon (139) snuck through to regionals with a fourth place finish.

“I think, overall, we did really good,” said Wyalusing coach Dave Patrick. “Coming in we were pretty confident last night. We didn’t perform in some of the finals - I think we lost matches we were ahead in, and that kid of put us in a different side of the bracket, and made some outcomes that weren’t what we wanted, but overall, to see Ethan win, to see Jonny win, to see Conner come through, it’s really good. I’m just really happy with the overall wrestling.”

Vanderpool went 3-0 with two falls to reach the finals, where he beat NEB’s Asher Kolesar 8-4 to claim gold.

Earle went 2-0 with an 18-1 tech fall in the semifinals, followed by a 12-1 win in the final over Troy’s Hunter Watson.

Patrick went 2-1, getting a pair of tech falls to reach the finals, where he lost to Sullivan County’s Andrew Kapec by fall in 1:24.

Fox went 2-1 on the day, with a tech fall, and a pin to get into the finals, where he fell 7-0 to Wellsboro’s Hayden Stevens.

Harvey went 1-1 on the day, getting a fall in the semifinals, then losing 10-5 to Williamson’s Zander Wilson in the title match.

Conner went 3-1 on the day, with two falls, and an 8-3 decision against Towanda’s Kolton McPeak in the bronze medal match.

Wood went 3-1 as well, with a tech fall, a pin, and a 5-3 win over Troy’s Garret Parks in the third place match.

Kinney rallied from a first round loss to go 2-1, getting pins in his final two matches, including a fall over NEB’s Alex Gomez in 4:18 - a revenge win after Gomez pinned him to open the tournament.

Sheldon went 2-2 on the day with a pair of falls to reach the third place match. He was pinned by Williamson’s Kohen Vandelinder in 41 seconds in the bronze medal match.

Brendan Wells (285) and Holden Patrick (160) both took fifth, with Wells going 0-2 while Patrick went 1-2.

Austin Jones (121) also went 0-2 on the day.

The Rams will now get ready for the District IV Championships at the end of the week.

“We’re keeping health number one - we got a little banged up here,” Patrick said. “We’ll be resting the beginning part of the week, then getting after it.”
