SULLIVAN COUNTY FALLS TO SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT IN MID-PENN TITLE GAME (February 15, 2026)
Northern Tier Sports ReportWILLIAMSPORT — A slow start doomed Sullivan County as they fell to South Williamsport, 57-50, in the Mid-Penn boys’ basketball title game Saturday.
The Griffins were down 15-8 after the first frame and had to play catch-up the rest of the game.
It was 41-34 going into the fourth but the Mounties were able to go point for point with them to hold them off.
Lucas King had 20 points, four assists, and three steals to lead the Griffins, with Tucker Blasi adding 12 points, and five boards.
Colin King had four points, and six rebounds, as Jaiden Moore had six points each.
Cayden Smithkors and Dom Marotti had three points each, with Ryan Murray adding two points.
Andrew Walter had 15 points to lead three Mounties in double figures as Bobby Regan had 12 points, and Chance Quimby netted 10.
South hit three 3-pointers en route to their 15 point first quarter while King and Moore had four points each for the Griffins.
Walter went off for nine second quarter points to help the Mounties extend the lead to 33-22 at the half.
The Griffins out scored South 12-8 in the third to narrow the lead behind five points from Lucas King.
King then went off for 10 points in the fourth but South hit six buckets to help hold them off.
Sullivan will host Galeton on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. tip-off in the district playoff opener.
