NTL WRESTLING: TOWANDA HAS THREE REACH THE PODIUM AT DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS (February 21, 2026)

WILLIAMSPORT — Towanda had three wrestlers qualify for the Northeast Regional Tournament out of the District IV Championships on Saturday, as Gage Evans (145), Hagen Jones (139), and Bryghton Yale (133) all kept their seasons alive.

Evans took fourth, going 1-2 on the day. He opened with a 4-2 loss to Midd-West’s Charley Paige, but bounced back with a fall over Canton’s Tommy Preston in 4:04 to get to the third place match.

There he lost 12-2 to Mifflinburg’s Lane Kenamond to take home bronze.

The senior Yale kept his career going by going 3-1 on Saturday.

He opened the consolation round with a 13-8 win over Line Mountain’s Cody Mirarchi, then in the next round he eked out a 4-3 win over Muncy’s Kase Snyder to get into the top six.

He fell to Wyalusing’s Cole Patrick 9-0 in the consolation semifinals but bounced back with a 17-1 tech fall over Hughesville’s Ethan Wodrig in the fifth place match. Wodrig beat him 13-7 in the preliminaries on Friday.

Jones went 1-2 on Saturday, opening with a loss against Muncy’s Chase Boozer by fall in 3:54 in the semifinals, then fell 17-0 to Mifflinburg’s Ben Straub in the consolation semifinals.

In the fifth place match he pulled out a 7-4 win over Montgomery’s AJ Kroft.

Reese Sluyter (160) came up just short of regionals, taking eighth in the tournament as he was forced to medically forfeit the seventh place match.

He opened the consolations with a 5-4 win over Sullivan County’s Tucker Evans, but then lost 15-1 to Montoursville’s Blake Fry in the consolation quarterfinals.

Braydon Fessenden (121), Dom Miller (285), Finn Brennan (215), Jayden Stranger (127), Joey Montonya (152), and Kolton McPeak (172) all went 0-2 in the tournament.
