SULLIVAN COUNTY'S KAPEC TAKES SECOND AT D4 WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPS (February 22, 2026)
Northern Tier Sports ReportWILLIAMSPORT — Sullivan County’s Andrew Kapec was runner-up at the District IV Wrestling Tournament Saturday. Kapec (133), along with teammate Carter Reis (285) will be headed to the Northeast Regional Tournament next weekend.
Kapec lost by tech fall to Mifflinburg’s Bradley Wagner 20-4 in the finals, but pinned his way there with a fall over Line Mountain’s Cody Mirarchi in the quarters, and a 1:51 pin over Lewisburg’s Landon Michaels in the semifinals.
Reis went 3-2 over the weekend opening the tournament with a fall over South Williamsport’s Oz Bird in 1:29.
He lost to Central Columbia’s Clayton Whiteknight 7-4 in the quarters, but bounced back with a fall over Towanda’s Dom Miller in the first round of consolations.
He lost 2-0 to Troy’s Reed Palmer to fall into the seventh place match, where he won 5-1 over Montoursville’s Gabriel Vanderwall to advance.
Wyatt Bagley (139), Tucker Evans (160), and Luca Zelewicz (114) all came up short of the podium.
Bagley went 1-2, with Evans and Zelewicz both going 0-2.
