Northern Tier Sports Report
The pinnacle of Pennsylvania wrestling ends this week while Troy and NEB hoops enter the PIAA State Tournament.

WRESTLING
Thursday, March 5 - Saturday, March 7
PIAA Championships at Hershey Giant Center: Three days to find out the best wrestlers in the state. In Boys AA there is Towanda’s Gage Evans, Canton’s Carson Rockwell, NEB’s Asher Kolesar, Troy’s Reed Palmer, and Wyalusing’s Dan Fox. For the girls NEB’s Anaiah Kolesar, and Towanda’s Kaylen Sluyter will be on the mats.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Friday, March 6
Troy (23-4) at Cambria Heights (16-9), 7 p.m.: Troy faces the District VI runner-up in the first round of states out in the west bracket. The winner will play on the following Tuesday.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Saturday, March 7
Susquehanna (20-4) at NEB (22-3), 1 p.m.: The Panthers play host to the Sabres, the District II runners-up. Both teams beat Wyalusing back in December of this year. The winner will play the following Wednesday.
