AOW: NEB'S STANTON, TROY'S WATSON HAVE STRONG STATE PLAYOFF GAMES (March 8, 2026)

A thrilling week, both on the courts and on the mats, as the best of the best from the area in winter sports got to show off one more time - and for Troy girls hoops, they earned the chance to keep going.

For NEB boys hoops point guard Eli Stanton has been the fire that’s fueled their success this season. In their season finale loss to Susquehanna Stanton kept that fire going with nine points and three steals to be the Male Athlete of the Week.

On the girls’ side sixth woman Haidyn Watson had a strong showing in Troy’s win over Cambria Heights. The sophomore had six points and six boards in 25 minutes of action to be the Female Athlete of the Week.
