NTL SWIMMING & DIVING: TOWANDA HAS ANOTHER STRONG SEASON IN THE POOL (March 8, 2026)

BY CHRIS MANNING
Northern Tier Sports Report
It was another successful year in the pool for Towanda Swimming and Diving as they had one district medalist, and several district qualifiers.

“This season was a successful one,” Deacon said. “Eight swimmers qualified for districts. Brennick Lain finished third at districts for diving. Nolan Deacon finished 6th for the 100-yard backstroke. We had best times at each meet. Coach Strickland and I are trying to get into the pool this summer for camps and open swims! We are hoping to see the upcoming eighth graders really push our varsity athletes.”

Also qualifying for districts were Shane Maghamez, Kellen Colton, Lake Strickland, and Ken Carle with Andrew Manley swimming on the relay teams.

The boys picked up several dual meet wins on the season.

Looking ahead to next year the Knights bring in a bumper crop of junior high swimmers who just claimed an NTL title, while their co-op with NEB goes into effect, which they hope will give them a numbers boost.
