NTL BASEBALL: STRONG PITCHIGN FROM INMAN, TAYLOR LEAD CANTON PAST SAYRE (March 21, 2026)

CANTON — Daniel Inman and Reed Taylor combined for a 1-hit shutout as Canton defeated Sayre, 5-0, during NTL Small School baseball action Saturday.

Inman went five innings to get the win, striking out seven with one hit, and one walk. Taylor tossed the final two, with one strikeout, and one walk.

The Warriors got one run in the first, then scored two runs in each of the fourth and fifth to pull away.

Inman (3-for-4) had an RBI while Taylor (1-for-2), Aaden Dowling (1-for-3), Carson Castle (1-for-2), and Owen Moore all scored. Trapper Burr (1-for-3), and Isaiah Colton each drove in a run.

Burr led off with a walk, followed by Inman getting a hit. Burr would then score on a steal of home for the 1-0 lead.

In the fourth Canton scored both runs with two outs as Dowling led off with a hit. Castle then drew a walk, setting up Burr’s RBI single that brought in Dowling.

Inman then singled in Castle for a 3-0 lead.

In the fifth back to back walks to Taylor and Moore, followed by Lucas Crawley getting hit by a pitch, loaded the bases. After an out Colton walked to drive in Taylor, then Moore scored on a fly out for the 5-0 final.

Canton (1-0) takes on CV on March 24.
