NTL SOFTBALL: NEB DROPS SEASON-OPENER AT WILLIAMSON (February 25, 2026)

TIOGA JUNCTION — Northeast Bradford jumped out early, but Williamson stormed back quickly and rolled to a 12-5 season-opening win here Wednesday afternoon in NTL softball action.

The Panthers struck for four runs in the top of the first inning to take the early lead.

Madalyn Callear led off the game with a walk, and Mackenzie Clark reached on an error to put runners on first and third.

Kamryn McPhereson gave NEB a 1-0 lead with a RBI single into center field.

With one out Ava Lambert plated a run with a fielder's choice to make it 2-0, and Izy Kapr capped the rally with a two-run single to right field to extend the lead to 4-0.

The Warriors took advantage of two walks, a hit batter and an error to plate seven runs in the home half of the first inning.

Williamson added two more runs in the second inning, and three in the bottom of the fourth to extend the lead to 12-4.

McPhereson's RBI double in the top of the seventh plated the Panthers' final run.

McPhereson doubled and singled, scored two runs and drove in one to pace NEB's six-hit attack, while Kapr singled and had two RBI, Orissa Gardner doubled and drove in one run, Zoey Theta and Carlie Wheaton each added a single, and Callear and Clark each scored one run.

Kristina Larnerd was tagged with the loss, allowing seven earned runs on nine hits, while striking out eight and walking two in six innings of work.

NEB returns to action Thursday at Canton.
