NL SOFTBALL: FLUCK TOSSES NO-HITTER; WYALUSING EDGES TROY, 2-1 (March 28, 2026)
Northern Tier Sports ReportEAST TROY — Senior Addison Fluck tossed a no-hitter and topped 200 career strikeouts to lead Wyalusing to a 2-1 win over Troy here Saturday afternoon in NTL softball action.
"(Addison) Fluck pitched a great game keeping hitters off balance and pitching a no-hitter," said Wyalusing coach Brett Jayne. "It was great to pickup our first win of season against good pitching by (Erinn) Knapp.
"Our girls are having better at-bats," he noted. " We had much better at bats today. I'm looking forward to when the bats all come alive.
"Our defense had a couple miscues today after playing flawless the other night, but I really like how our defense is playing as a team.
"I like the way the girls are playing starting off the season," added Jayne.
Josie Ferris led off the top of the third inning for the Rams with a double, and ended up scoring on back-to-back passed balls to make it 1-0.
Troy's Sydnee Bellows reached on a two-out error in the home half of the fifth inning, then took second on a passed ball, and scored on another error to tie the game at 1-1.
Treanna Nickeson led off the top of the seventh inning with a single and took second on a miscue on the throw. After a walk to Kirra Millard, both runners moved up on a passed ball.
Nickeson hustled home on a bunt by Kya Carpenter to make it 2-1.
Fluck retired the side in order in the home half of the seventh inning to preserve the win.
Fluck fanned 12 and walked two, while allowing an unearned run in the seven-inning gem to earn the win.
Ferris doubled and scored one run, and Nickeson singled and scored one run to account for Wyalusing's two hits.
Knapp was tagged with the tough-luck loss. She allowed two unearned runs on two hits, while striking out eight and walking one.
Wyalusing returns to action Tuesday at Athens, while Troy travels to North Penn-Liberty.
