Northern Tier Sports ReportThe first big track and field invite of the year is today while things are looking soggy on the diamonds. Mother Nature has already forced a few cancellations for today, so keep those eyes open for the possibility of some more.
TRACK & FIELDTowanda, Wyalusing, NEB, Troy at Canton’s Kirby Classic, 2 p.m.: Field events go off at 2 p.m., the track starts at 3 p.m. This features most of the NTL, plus a few teams from down south.
BASEBALLCanton (1-2) at Williamson (1-2), 4:30 p.m.: Canton is looking to break a 2-game losing streak while Williamson is coming off a loss to CV. They both have wins over Sayre.
SOFTBALLCanton (1-2) at Williamson (4-0), 4:30 p.m.: Williamson has been the darlings of Small School NTL play so far while Canton has played in some high scoring games so far this season, scoring 15, seven, and 18 runs in their first three contests.
Blue Ridge at NEB (2-2), 4:30 p.m.: It’s been a roller coaster for NEB this season as they get their first non-league game.
