NTL TRACK & FIELD: WOODRUFF, MAYNARD EARN GOLDS AS TOWANDA GIRLS SECOND AT KIRBY CLASSIC (April 3, 2026)
Northern Tier Sports ReportCANTON — Paced by a pair of gold medal performances, the Towanda girls took second as a team at the Kirby Classic on Thursday.
The Lady Knights finished with 83 points as Hughesville (168.50) pulled away for the win.
Brynn Woodruff threw 108-feet, 1-inch in the javelin to win, while Marin Maynard vaulted 9-feet to take gold in the pole vault.
In her first meet Maris Cobb was third in the 1600 (5:28.60) and sixth in the 800 (2:32.81) while Mya Maynard scored in all three throws, taking fourth in the shot put (41-feet, 7-inches), third in the discus (89-feet, 7-inches), and third in the javelin (91-feet, 1-inch).
Eliana Cook was third in the shot put (34-feet, 4-inches) and fourth in the javelin (83-feet, 10-inches).
Mary-Kate Eberlin took fifth in the 800 (2:31.96) and sixth in the long jump (14-feet, 1-inch).
Natalyn Morris was third in the high jump (4-feet, 8-inches), and Allexys Shaffer was fifth in the pole vault (6-feet, 6-inches). Kenzie Brown took eighth in the 3200 (13:44.85), as well.
Their 4x800 was third in 11;02, while the 4x100 took seventh in 56.08.
On the boys’ side Jazick Brown won the 400 (51.64) and took third in the 200 (23.58), while Emmett Klees was fourth in the 3200 (10:18.550, and sixth in the 1600 (4:43.41).
Kole Heyer finished second in the high jump (5-feet, 10-inches), Markell Garner took second in the shot put (46-feet, 4-inches), Tanner Vanderpool was third in the pole vault (10-feet), Kolton McPeak was seventh in the javelin (118-feet, 10-inches), Dom Miller took eighth in the shot put (38-feet, 11-inches), and Keegan Stroud was eighth in the high jump at 5-feet, 4-inches.
The 4x100 relay was sixth in 49.66.
The Towanda boys took sixth with 56 points.
