NTL SOFTBALL: CALLEAR'S BIG DAY FUELS NEB'S WIN OVER SULLIVAN COUNTY (April 4, 2026)
Northern Tier Sports ReportROME — Madalyn Callear had a big day as NEB rolled past Sullivan County, 10-0 in five innings, during non-league softball action Saturday.
Callear went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored at the plate, while fanning 10 in a 1-hitter in the circle.
NEB had two runs in each of the first and second innings, then racked up six in the fifth to secure the win.
Izzy Kapr (1-for-2) and Kristina Larnard both scored twice as Orissa Gardner (2-for-3), Zoey Thetga (2-for-2), Karmyn McPherson (1-for-4), and Jaylin Wheaton (1-for-3) also crossed home. Thetga’s hit was a double.
In the first Callear led off with a double, then scored on a McPherson hit. McPherson then scored on an error off the bat of Thetga.
In the second Kapr reached on a walk then later scored on a passed ball. Larnard would reach on an error, then scored on an error by the catcher for a 4-0 lead.
In the fifth Gardner led off with a hit, followed by a Thetga double. Gardner would score on a passed ball.
Kapr would then reach on a fielder’s choice, followed by Larnard getting on with an error. Wheaton would then get a hit, as Callear backed that up with a double - all four would score to end the game.
