SULLIVAN COUNTY ROLLS PAST MILLVILLE IN SOFTBALL ACTION (April 9, 2026)

MILLVILLE — Sullivan County softball scored in six of seven innings as they rolled past Millville, 17-5, during Mid-Penn softball action.

The Griffins took a 1-0 lead in the first, then tacked on four more in the top of the second. The Quakers rallied with five runs in the bottom half to knot the game up at 5-all.

After a scoreless third Sullivan went on to score 12 runs in the final four innings, beginning with one run in the fourth. They added three more in the fifth, two in the sixth, and ran away with six runs in the seventh.

Miley Dickinson (4-for-5) had two doubles with 2-RBI, as Mariah Hallabuk proved some pop in the final spot of the batting order, going 1-for-4 with a home run, three runs scored, and 3-RBI.

Gabby Evans (2-for-3) scored three times and drove in a run, as Paighton Durland scored four times, and had an RBI.

Charley Insinger scored twice and had 3-RBI, with Trinity Rohe (1-for-1), Emilia Viveiros, and Emily Murray (1-for-2) all crossing home.

Bailey Smith (1-for-2) had 2-RBI as Hannah Kelly scored twice.

Viveiros got the win, striking out eight with two walks, three hits, and five runs scored, none of which were earned.

In the top of the first Durland was hit by a pit then scored on an Insinger ground out for the early 1-0 lead.

The second started with back to back walks to Evans and Kelly. After an out Durland drew a walk to load the bases, setting up Insinger getting beaned to bring in Evans. 

Dickinson then doubled in two, followed by Smith driving in a run on a ground out for the 5-0 lead.

After loading the bases in the third and coming up with nothing Insinger drew a 1-out walk in the fourth, followed by Dickinson hitting a single. Smith then singled in Insinger for the 6-5 lead.

In the fifth Kelly reached on a 1-out error, then scored on an error off the bat of Hallabuk. Durland would draw a walk, then Hallabuk scored on a passed ball.

Evans led off the sixth by reaching on a single, then two batters later Hallabuk belted a home run to center field for an 11-5 ball game.

In the seventh Rohe opened the inning by getting hit by a pitch, followed by Viveiros drawing a walk. Murray would load the bases with a single, followed by Evans getting hit by a pitch to bring in Rohe.

After an out back to back walks by Hallabuk and Durland brought in Viveiros and Murray for a 14-5 game.

Insinger was hit by a pitch to score Evans, followed by Hallabuk crossing home on a passed ball. Durland scored their final run on a passed ball for the 17-5 final.
