NTL SOFTBALL: HOT HITTING TOWANDA TOPS NEB (April 9, 2026)
Northern Tier Sports ReportROME — Towanda softball won their fifth straight game as they rolled past NEB, 14-0 in five innings, during NTL action Thursday.
“We’re kind of hitting our stride,” said Towanda coach Dean Johnson. “We’re hitting the ball pretty well. At the start of the season we faced really, really good pitching.”
He noted the tough pitching in Large School games to start the year may have helped them these past two games where they combined for 34 runs.
“The pitching is so good the stats don’t look good,” said Johnson. “These couple games here were get right games.”
Brooklyn Evans (2-for-4) had a triple, a home run, three runs scored, and an RBI to lead Towanda, as Brynsen Vargason (3-for-3) had a double, 4-RBI, and two runs scored.

A Vargason sacrifice fly brought in Perry, then a Wells hit scored Maris Cobb for a 6-0 lead.

Evans led off the fourth with a home run for the 10-0 advantage.
