NTL BASEBALL: NEB COMES UP SHORT AGAINST ATHENS (April 11, 2026)

ATHENS — NEB baseball lost 6-1 to Athens during NTL action on Saturday.

It was 1-1 after the first inning with the Wildcats putting up five runs in the fifth to break open the game.

The Panthers got no hit with Anthony Johnson earning a lead-off walk then eventually scoring on a passed ball for their lone run.

Cooper Hugo started, and went 3 2/3-innings with three strikeouts, five walks, four hits, and one earned run.

Johnson tossed one-third of an inning with no strikeouts, one walk, three hits, and four runs.

Nate Gross went the final two innings with one strikeout, no walks, three hits, and one run.

Nick Grazul got the win for Athens, going six innings with 12 strikeouts, three walks, no hits, and one earned run. Kaden Wheeler struck out three in the final inning for Athens while allowing two walks.
