NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: NEB'S STANTON HEADLINES BC ALL-STARS (April 12, 2026)

BY CHRIS MANNING
Northern Tier Sports Report
It was an exciting season for area boys’ basketball teams with NEB and Towanda claiming league titles, while the Panthers won their first district title since 1991.

Leading the way for NEB was point guard Eli Stanton. The furnace that heats the house that was the Panthers this year, Stanton’s ability to run the point, get to the basket, and defend the other team’s best perimeter player were just some of his on court contributions, as his leadership and competitiveness drove NEB to their historically good season with averages of 10.3 PPG, 3.9 APG, 3.6 RPG, and 2.3 SPG.

Stanton is the Bradford County Boys Basketball All-stars Player of the Year.

Troy’s Trey Teribury put up 16.4 PPG as he took over the number one option for the Trojans this year. His ability to shoot from deep, and get to the rim, while also possession a solid mid-range game, makes him the Offensive Player of the Year.

Towanda’s Markell Garner proved to be a defensive force in the middle, averaging 8.3 RPG and 2.7 BPG, he also put up 10.4 PPG. Garner is the Defensive Player of the Year.

As a freshman Athens’ Aidan Briggs put up 8.5 PPG, 1.8 APG, and 1.0 SPG to help fuel the Wildcats bounce back season. He’s the Newcomer of the Year.

NEB’s historic run this year - which included an undefeated season against the Large School teams - makes Paul Burgert and his staff the Coaching Staff of the Year.
