SULLIVAN COUNTY SOFTBALL POWERS THEIR WAY PAST BENTON (April 13, 2026)
Northern Tier Sports ReportLAPORTE — Sullivan County softball jumped out fast in their 15-0 win over Benton during Mid-Penn action Monday.
The Griffins scored 10 in the first, two more in the second, then hit the mercy rule with three runs in the third.
Miley Dickinson (2-for-2) led the way with 3-RBI and two runs scored, with Mariah Hallabuk (1-for-1) scoring twice and driving in two runs.
Emilia Viveiros (1-for-1) scored twice with one RBI, as Piper VanGalder (1-for-1) also crossed home.
Hannah Kelly scored three times with Paighton Durland scoring twice while driving in one run.
Charley Insinger, Emily Murray, and Maizey Keeney all scored and drove in a run.
In the bottom of the first Durland led off by getting hit by a pitch, followed by Insinger drawing a walk. Dickson would also get beaned to load the bases.
Durland and Insinger both scored on passed balls, with Keeney then drawing a walk, followed by Viveiros getting hit by a pitch to load the bases, again.
Murray was then hit by a pitch to bring in Dickinson, followed by Keeney scoring on a wild pitch.
Kelly and Hallabuk then both got hit by a pitch to score Viveiros for a 5-0 lead.
Durland would walk to bring in Murray, followed by Insinger getting hit by a pitch to score Kelly for a 7-0 score.
Dickinson would single in Hallabuk, followed by Keeney driving in Durland on a fielder’s choice.
The final run came on a Viveiros hit that brought in Dickinson for a 10-0 contest after one.
In the second Sullivan would load the bases with three walks, setting u pa 2-run single form Dickinson.
Viveiros led off the third by getting hit by a pitch. After an out VanGalder singled, then Viveiros scored off an error off the bat of Kelly.
Hallabuk singled in VanGalder, then Kelly scored on a passed ball for the 15th run.
Sullivan County (4-3) will host Montgomery on Friday.
