NTL BASEBALL: CANTON FALLS TO MILLVILLE IN 11-INNING MARATHON (April 18, 2026)

Northern Tier Sports Report
MILLVILLE — It took 11-innings but Canton fell to Millville, 9-8, in walk-off fashion during non-league baseball action Saturday.

With two outs in the bottom of the 11th the Quakers scored on a wild pitch to complete their rally as Canton led 8-4 at one point.

It was 2-2 after one, then 5-4 after two when the Warriors scored three in the top of the fourth to double Millville up.

The Quakers got one back in the bottom half, then chipped away as they scored another run in the fifth, then tacked on two more in the bottom of the seventh to send the game into extra innings.

The Warriors threatened in the ninth, 10th, and 11th but couldn’t get the one they needed for the win.

Bailey Gardner (3-for-6) had two doubles, 3-RBI, and a run scored to lead Canton with Daniel Inman (2-for-4) hitting a double with 2-RBI.

Leeland Tubach (2-for-5) scored, as Trapper Burr (1-for-5) had a double with two runs scored.

Reed Taylor (1-for-5) had a double with 2-RBI, while Owen Moore scored a run.

It was by committee on the mound with Inman starting and going four innings with four strikeouts, five walks, four hits, and six runs, three of which were earned.

Rylan Wesneski tossed the next inning, striking out one, as Gardner went three innings with four strikeouts, five walks, two hits, and two earned runs.

Taylor went the final 2 2/3-innings to get the loss, with one strikeout, five walks, one hit, and one earned run.

Burr led off the game with a double, followed by Gardner reaching on a fielder’s choice. A Taylor ground out scored Burr, while an Inman hit allowed Gardner to come home for the 2-0 lead.

The Warriors would rally with two outs in the second as Moore and Burr drew back to back walks. That set up a Gardner double that scored both to make it 4-2.

A Taylor walk kept the rally going with Gardner eventually scoring on an error for the 3-run lead.

Tubach led off the fourth with a hit, then scored on a 2-out double from Gardner. Gardner would reach home on a double by Taylor for a 7-4 ball game.

Grant Jennings, running for Taylor, would score on Inman’s double - the third straight in the inning for the Warriors - to build their 8-4 lead.

Canton (4-7) is at NEB on Tuesday.
