NTL BASEBALL: TOWANDA RALLIES PAST NP-MANSFIELD (April 21, 2026)

WYSOX — Towanda baseball rallied from an early deficit to roll past NP-Mansfield, 11-4, during NTL action Tuesday.

The Tigers scored one run in each of the first two innings to go up 2-0 with Towanda getting on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third.

The Knights would get their bats going in the fifth with five runs to take a 6-2 lead, then scored five more in the sixth for an 11-2 advantage.

NPM came back with two runs in the top of the seventh for the 7-run difference.

Harper Welles (2-for-4) had a double with 4-RBI to lead the Knights as Avery Butts (1-for-4) had a double with 2-RBI.

Gage Evans (1-for-3) and Lucas Vincent (1-for-3) both scored twice, and drove in a run, with Boom Thompson, Shane Maghamez (1-for-4), Hagen Jones, and Hudson Stevens (1-for-3) also crossing home.

Thompson, and Jones each had an RBI.

Butts started, and went 6 1/3-innings for the win, striking out six with four walks, five hits, and four runs, three of which were earned.

Thompson tossed the final two-thirds with one strikeout.

Stevens led off the third with a walk, then after Thompson reached on an error Stevens  would score on a Welles hit for a 2-1 ball game.

Maghamez would walk to lead off the fifth inning followed by Brad Assante reaching on an error. Evans would single in Maghamez for a 2-2 game.

Assante would score off a Vincent hit to put the Knights up 3-2, then a Butts double brought in Evans and Vincent for a 5-2 ball game.

Pinch runner Gabe Wolf would score on a passed ball for a 6-2 Towanda lead.

In the sixth Assante and Evans would lead off with back to back walks, followed by Vincent reaching on an error to load the bases.

After an out Jones was hit by a pitch to score Vincent for a 7-2 game.

NPM would get a second out but then Thompson got beaned to bring in Evans.

Welles then doubled in three for the 11-2 score.

After NPM got two runs up in the top of the seventh Thompson came on and got back to back outs to secure the win.
