NTL BASEBALL: TOWANDA FALLS TO WELLSBORO (April 24, 2024)

WYSOX — Towanda baseball dropped a 7-1 game against Wellsboro during NTL baseball action Friday.

The Hornets jumped out to a 4-0 first inning lead with both teams scoring a run each in the third. The Hornets would tack on one run each in the fifth and sixth innings.

Boom Thompson (2-for-4) scored Towanda’s run as Avery Butts (2-for-3) also had a multi-hit game. Lucas Vincent (1-for-3) and Hudson Stevens (1-for-3) also had hits.

Brad Asstante started, and went four innings with five strikeouts, three walks, six hits, and five runs, three of which were earned.

Thompson tossed the next three innings with one strikeout, no walks, four hits, and two runs, one of which was earned.

Thompson led off the bottom of the third with a hit then later scored on a wild pitch for their run.

Towanda (5-6) hosts Troy on Tuesday.
