Northern Tier Sports Report
A big week ahead as teams start wrapping up their division schedules in baseball and softball, while track and field comes down to the end of their dual meet season. 

BOYS TENNIS
Monday, April 27
Towanda at District IV Singles Tournament, 9 a.m.: Bayley Poll is the fourth seed for the tournament, which is being moved to Bloomsburg. The top four will head to South Williamsport’s indoor facility on Tuesday.

Saturday, May 2
Towanda at District IV Doubles Tournament, 9 a.m.: The doubles plan on going off at Williamsport.

SOFTBALL
Monday, April 27
NEB (3-10) at Benton (0-5), 4:30 p.m.: The Panthers are looking to break their 7-game losing streak as they start the week on the road.

Tuesday, April 28
Troy (4-8) at Towanda (9-2), 4:30 p.m.: The Knights are coming off a big win over Hughesville as they are tied on top of the Large School Division standings with NP-Liberty and Athens. Troy is looking to break a 4-game losing streak.

Wellsboro (6-8) at Wyalusing (9-5), 4:30 p.m.: The Hornets are battling for their playoff lives while the Rams have won two straight, including a victory over Athens.

Wednesday, April 29
South Williamsport (2-10) at NEB (3-10), 4:30 p.m.: The Panthers play host in another non-league contest, this time taking on the defending Class AA District IV Championships.

Thursday, April 30
NEB (3-10) at Troy (4-8), 4:30 p.m.: A cross-over contest as the Panthers play their third game in four days.

Williamson (8-4) at Towanda (9-2), 4:30 p.m.: The Warriors have won three straight coming into the week while Towanda looks to keep their spot in the divisional standings.

Sayre (1-10) at Wyalusing (9-5), 4:30 p.m.: The Rams host Sayre in a cross-over game. Sayre comes in on a 6-game losing streak.

Canton (5-7) at Wellsboro (6-8), 4:30 p.m.: The Warriors hit the road as they keep their playoff hopes alive.

Saturday, May 2
Towanda (9-2) at Athens (8-2), 10 a.m.: Their first meeting in over a month, the Wildcats pulled out a win way back in their season opener. This should go a long ways in determining the league champion.

BASEBALL
Tuesday, April 28
Troy (8-5) at Towanda (5-6), 4:30 p.m.: They still have the 13-13 8-inning game to finish as the Trojans look to solidify their playoff spot and the Knights fight for theirs.

Wellsboro (9-2) at Wyalusing (3-9), 4:30 p.m.: The Rams play host to a Hornets team that has won five straight.

Bucktail (3-9) at Canton (4-9), 4:30 p.m.: The Warriors are looking to break their 4-game win streak as they host the Bucks.

Wednesday, April 29
Wyalusing (3-9) at South Williamsport (7-4), 4:30 p.m.: The Rams hit the road for this non-league contest. South has wins over Towanda and Troy during the season.

Thursday, April 30
NEB (7-5) at Troy (8-5), 4:30 p.m.: The Panthers are just a couple wins away from guaranteeing a playoff spot despite not having a team a year ago. 

Williamson (3-8) at Towanda (5-6), 4:30 p.m.: The Knights play host to a Warriors team that’s 1-3 in their last four games.

Canton (4-9) at Wellsboro (9-2), 4:30 p.m.: Canton hits the road as they face a Hornets squad that’s in the running for the NTL Large School title.

Friday, May 1
Canton (4-9) at Muncy (5-4), 4:30 p.m.: The Indians are battling for their playoff lives as they come off two straight wins.

Wyalusing (3-9) vs NEB (7-5) at Binghamton Stadium, 5:30 p.m.: The two teams get a chance to play on a minor league field as part of the Blue Ridge Tournament there.

Saturday, May 2
Towanda (5-6) at Athens (10-2), 10 a.m.: Towanda ends the week with a big divisional match-up against the Wildcats. Athens won the first meeting back in March 6-1.

Wyalusing, NEB at Binghamton Tournament: The two teams finish up tournament play back at Binghamton Stadium.

TRACK & FIELD
Tuesday, April 28
NEB, Troy, NP-Mansfield at Towanda, 4 p.m.: The Knights play host to a large quad-meet as he head into the final throes of the dual meet season.

Williamson, Sayre at Wyalusing, 4 p.m.: The Rams play host to the Warriors and Sayre as they’re coming off a good showing at their Lasagna Invitational.

Canton, Athens, at Wellsboro, 4 p.m.: The Warriors hit the road to face two big schools after re-writing a few of their record books at the Lasagna Invitational.

Friday, May 1
Troy at Blue Jay Invitational: The Trojans head to Central Columbia to face teams from District IV, District II, and District XI.

Wyalusing at Midd-West Invitational: The Rams head south to take on teams from District IV, District III, and District VI.

Canton at Coudersport Invitational: Canton heads west to face teams from District IV, and District IX.
