NTL SOFTBALL: COBB TOSSES SHUTOUT AS TOWANDA DOWNS TROY (April 28, 2026)
Northern Tier Sports ReportWYSOX — Towanda’s Leila Cobb allowed four hits and fanned 17 as the Knights topped Troy, 6-0, during NTL softball action Tuesday.
It was scoreless through two when Towanda pushed two across in the bottom of the third. They would go on to score two more runs each in the fourth and fifth innings to get the win.
Brooklyn Evans (1-for-2) had a double with 3-RBI as Molly Roberts (2-for-3) had a triple with two runs scored.
Payton Perry (1-for-3) and Kaylen Sluyter (1-for-2) both scored and drove in a run as Leila Cobb (1-for-3) had a double with an RBI.
Kendal Cook (1-for-1), and Hannah Crawford (1-for-3) both had hits with Caedence Wells (2-for-3) having a multi-hit game.
Maris Cobb would also cross home.
Erinn Knapp (2-for-3) had multiple hits for Troy as Haidyn Watson (1-for-3) and Delaney Kendall (1-for-2) also had hits.
Knapp struck out four in the loss, allowing two walks, 10 hits, and six runs.
Roberts would lead off the third with a hit, followed by Sluyter reaching on an error two batters later.
A Perry single would drive in Roberts. After Maris Cobb drew a walk Evans would bringing Sluyter on a sacrifice fly for the 2-0 lead.
In the fourth Wells led off with a hit, then her courtesy runner, Sadie Overpeck, scored on a Leila Cobb double.
Cobb would get caught trying to steal home, but Roberts tripled, which led to Sluyter hitting a 2-out single to bring her home for a 4-0 lead.
Perry led off the fifth with a walk, followed by Maris Cobb reaching on a fielder’s choice.
Evans then doubled them in for the 6-0 final.
Towanda (11-2) will host Williamson on Thursday while Troy (4-9) welcomes NEB.
