NTL BASEBALL: CANTON FALLS AT MUNCY (May 2, 2026)
Northern Tier Sports ReportMUNCY — Canton lost a hard fought battle against Muncy, 5-2, during non-league baseball action Saturday.
The Warriors held a brief lead after scoring two runs in the top of the third, but the Indians rallied with three runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Muncy tacked on insurance runs in the fifth and sixth to get the 3-run win.
Daniel Inman (3-for-4) had an RBI for Canton as Bailey Gardner (2-for-3) scored a run.
Trapper Burr (1-for-4) also scored as Reed Taylor (2-for-4) had a multi-hit game. Carson Castle (1-for-2) chipped in with a hit as Owen Moore had an RBI.
Inman started, and went three innings with three strikeouts, two walks, two hits, and three earned runs.
Burr tossed the final three innings, allowing four hits, and two runs, one of which was earned.
In the top of the third Burr reached on an error to lead things off followed by Gardner and Taylor hitting back to back singles to load the bases.
An Inman ground out brought in Burr.
After a catcher’s interference call put Luke Crawley on base as Moore drew a walk to score Gardner.
Muncy then got back to back strikeouts to end the inning.
Canton (5-11) will host Williamson on Monday with a 2 p.m. start.
