NTL SOFTBALL: SULLIVAN USES FAST START TO DOWN MILLVILLE (May 2, 2026)
Northern Tier Sports ReportLAPORTE — Sullivan County softball jumped out early and out raced Millville for a 13-7 win during Mid-Penn action Saturday.
The Griffins led 7-2 after the first inning, with the two teams each getting a run in the second.
They both scored four runs in the fifth, with the Griffins adding one more in the sixth for the 6-run win.
Bailey Smith (2-for-3) had two doubles, 2-RBI, and two runs scored to pace Sullivan as Mariah Hallabuk (2-for-3) had 3-RBI with two runs scored.
Piperr VanGalder (1-for-2) scored twice, and drove in a run as Miley Dickinson (1-for-3) and Emily Murray (1-for-3) both scored, and had an RBI.
Paighton Durland scored and drove in a run, as well, with Charley Insinger (1-for-4) crossing home.
Emilia Viveiros (1-for-2) also had a hit.
Viveiros struck out seven in the win, with two walks, nine hits, and seven runs, two of which were earned.
Hallabuk opened up the bottom of the first with a walk, followed by Insinger hitting a single.
Smith then brought both home with a double for a 2-2 score.
Dickinson and Viveiros got the rally restarted with back to back walks.
After a pair of outs VanGalder drew a walk to bring in Smith, then Durland walked to score Dickinson for a 4-2 ball game.
Bailey Bogart would score on a passed ball, followed by Hallabuk singling gin VanGalder and Durland for the 7-2 lead.
In the second Viveiros drew a 2-out walk, then her courtesy runner, Bogart, scored on an error off the bat of Maizey Keeney for an 8-3 score.
The Quakers cut it to 8-7 midway through the fifth when Viveiros would single to start the bottom half.
Bogart, once again running for Viveiros, would score on a Murray hit. VanGalder then singled to put two runners on.
After an out a Hallabuk brought in Murry and VanGalder, then scored herself on a throwing error for a 12-7 game.
In the sixth Smith doubled, then scored on a Dickinson hit for the 13-7 final.
Sullivan (8-6) inches closer to a playoff berth as they travel to CMVT on Tuesday.
