SULLIVAN COUNTY COMES UP SHORT AGAINST CV (May 4, 2026)
Northern Tier Sports ReportWESTFIELD — Sullivan County baseball fell 11-4 to CV during non-league baseball action Monday.
It was 5-2 Indians after one, and they made it 7-2 with two more runs in the second.
The Griffins hit back with two runs in the top of the third to make it a 3-run game, but they wouldn’t score after that.
CV would get two runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings for the 11-4 final.
Cole Barto (2-for-3) had a double with a run scored as Madden Fries (2-for-4) scored a run.
Zane Miller (1-for-3) had a double with 2-RBI as Ryan Murray and Garrett Burke both scored.
Burke started, and went 4 1/3-innings with two strikeouts, six walks, eight hits, and nine earned runs.
Cole Ledger tossed 1 1/3-innings with one strikeout, six walks, one hit, and two earned runs.
Murray went the final one-third.
The Griffins scored with two outs to take an early lead. Fries led off with a single, then three batters later Murray drew a 2-out walk to keep the rally going.
Fries would later score on a balk, followed by Burke drawing a walk.
Barto would single in Miller for the 2-0 lead.
The Griffins went with two outs again, this time in the third.
Burke drew a 2-out walk, followed by a Barto double.
A Miller double would plate both for the 7-4 score.
Sullivan County (2-for-13) will travel to CMVT on Wednesday.
