NTL SOFTBALL: WATSON HOMERS TWICE AS TROY ROUTS SAYRE (May 5, 2026)

SAYRE — Troy used an 11-run fourth inning to pull away from Sayre, 16-4 in five innings, during NTL softball action Tuesday.

Haidyn Watson had the big bat, going 4-for-4 with two home runs, a double, 5-RBI, and three runs scored, as Sydnee Bellows (2-for-4) had a double with two runs scored, and an RBI.

Lauren Reed (2-for-4) scored twice with Erinn Knapp (1-for-2) hitting a home run.

Aubree Kenyon (2-for-4) scored, as Delaney Kendall (1-for-4) had 2-RBI, with a run scored.

Maddyson Muir (1-for-2) had a double with a run scored, and an RBI, Keira Coles (1-for-2) had a double with 2-RBI, and a run scored.

Izzy Renzi (1-for-2) scored, and drove in a run, as Danielle Roy (1-for-4) scored twice, and had an RBI.

Aleiyah Kutt (1-for-2) also crossed home as Taylor Brown (1-for-2) had a hit.

Knapp started, and went three innings with seven strikeouts and one hit, while Watson tossed the final two innings with one strikeout, three walks, three hits, and four runs, three of which were earned.

Watson hit a 1-out home run in the top of the first to get the Trojans on the scoreboard.

Reed then singled, followed by Renzi plating her on a 2-out hit. Muir would double in Renzi, then Muir scored on a Kendall hit for a 4-0 lead.

Knapp would lead off the third with a solo shot on the first pitch she saw to make it 5-0.

Roy would get the offense started in the fourth by reaching on a 1-out error, followed by Bellows hitting a double. 

Watson would single in Roy, then Bellows scored on an error off the bat of Reed.

An error off the bat of Kutt allowed Watson to come home for an 8-0 lead.

Cole then rocked a 2-run double for the 10-0 advantage.

Brown would single, setting up Coles scoring on a Kendall fielder’s choice. 

Kenyon would single, followed by Roy driving in Kendall to make it 12-0.

A Bellows hit brought in Kenyon, then Watson brought everybody home with a 3-run home run on an 0-2 pitch for the 16-0 lead.

Troy (6-10) is still alive for the playoffs but will need to get past CV at home on Thursday with a 4:30 p.m. start.
