NTL SOFTBALL: WYALUSING POUNDS OUT WIN OVER CANTON (May 5, 2026)

CANTON — Wyalusing pounded out 14 hits as they topped Canton, 9-1, during NTL softball action Tuesday.

The Rams jumped out with three runs in the first, then scored four more in the second. They added another run in the third for an 8-0 lead.

Canton got on the board with a run in the fifth, then Wyalusing scored their final run in the seventh for the 8-run win.

Addison Fluck struck out seven with one walk, three hits, and one run in the win, while also going 1-for-3 with an RBI. Her courtesy runner, Raelea Harvey, scored twice.

Emily Johns (3-for-3) scored a run, as Kirra Millard (2-for-4) had a double with 2-RBI.

Addisyn Bly (2-for-4) had a double with two runs scored, with Kyla Carpenter (2-for-4) also crossing home, and Riley O’Connor (2-for-2) scoring, and driving in a run.

Treanna Nickeson (1-for-4) scored, and drove in a run, as Callee Warner also had an RBI.

Josie Ferris scored, with Hannah Fulmer (1-for-1) getting a hit.

Lucy Proseus (1-for-3) scored for Canton as Raya Preston (1-for-2), and Alyssa May (1-for-3) also had hits. Tiffany Acla had an RBI.

Preston struck out one in the loss, allowing one walk, 11 hits, and nine runs, four of which were earned.

Bly opened up the game with a double, but Canton would retire the next two batters.

Fluck came through with the run scoring hit for the 1-0 lead.

O’Connor would drive in Harvey, followed by Millard doubling in O’Connor for the 3-0 lead.

Johns and Bly would have back to back 1-out hits in the second. 

Nickeson would bring in both for a 5-0 lead. A Ferris ground out scored Nickeson to make it 6-0 Rams.

Fluck would reach, then her courtesy runner, Harvey, was plated by O’Connor for a 7-0 lead.

Carpenter would reach to start the third, then scored on a Warner ground out for the 8-0 advantage.

Canton got on the scoreboard as Proseus and May had back to back singles. After an out an error off the bat of Acla brought in Proseus for an 8-1 game.

Fulmer singled to lead off the seventh. After two outs, Ferris, running for Fulmer, would score on a Millard hit for the 9-1 final.

Canton (6-10) is at Athens on Thursday while Wyalusing (12-5) is at  South Williamsport on Thursday.
