H.S. BASEBALL: SAYRE EDGES SULLIVAN COUNTY, 2-1 (May 11, 2026)

LAPORTE — Sullivan County fell 2-1 to Sayre during non-league baseball action Monday.

Sayre scored runs in the first and second innings to go up 2-0. That held until the seventh with the Griffins got one across, but couldn’t get the tying run.

Tucker Blasi (2-for-2) was perfect from the plate to lead Sullivan as Cole Barto (1-for-4) also had a hit.

Brian Smith scored their run.

Madden Fries went 5 2/3-innings for Sullivan with six strikeouts, five walks, three hits, and two runs, one of which was earned.

Blasi tossed the rest of the game with three strikeouts, and two walks.

Smith led off the bottom of the seventh with a walk, then scored on a 2-out error off the bat of Fries.

Sullivan (2-16) will travel to Montgomery Tuesday.
