NTL SOFTBALL: WYALUSING PULLS AWAY FROM CANTON (May 12, 2026)

Northern Tier Sports Report
WYALUSING — Addison Fluck had a big day for Wyalusing as they pulled away from Canton, 13-3 in five innings, during NTL softball action Tuesday.

The Rams led 3-0 after one, while adding a run in the third.

In the top of the fourth Canton struck back with three runs of their own to make it a 1-run game.

Wyalusing would push five runs across in the bottom half of the inning, then ended things with a 4-run fifth.

Wyalusing coach Brett Jayne was glad to see his team finish the regular season on the strong side after a tough loss out at Wellsboro.

“It was good to have most of the girls healthy,” he said. “The other day against Wellsboro we struggled a little bit with a couple girls being sick, and Fluck was definitely off her game being sick, and that hurts when she’s not on her game, but hat’s off to Wellsboro. Wellsboro played a good game the other night. Their pitcher, Frantz, she threw a good game, and we just didn’t execute the way we should have. I’m glad we did tonight. I was beginning to wonder - we started fast, and then we cooled off.”

Their infield had a few errors that led to some Canton runs but it put it behind them down the stretch of the game.

The Rams had 15 hits on the day as Fluck (2-for-3) had a home run with 4-RBI.

Treanna Nickeson (2-for-3) scored three times with an RBI while Addisyn Bly (2-for-4) had a triple with two runs scored.

Ellie Adams (2-for-2) scored three times with Josie Ferris (2-for-4) driving in two runs while scoring twice.

Laynee Burgess and Emily Johns (1-for-3) both scored as Raelea Harvey (1-for-1), Callee Warner, and Kyla Carpenter each had an RBI.

Riley O’Connor (1-for-2), Kirra Millard (1-for-2), and Hannah Fulmer (1-for-1) all had hits.

Fluck struck out four in the win with no walks, and four hits.

For Canton Amelia Pepper (1-for-3) had a double with a run scored as Lindley Sechrist (1-for-2), and Trinity Acla also scored.

Tara Gilbert (1-for-3), Lucy Proseus (1-for-3) and Alyssa May (1-for-2) all scored.

Raya Preston started, and went three innings with one strikeout, one walk, six hits, and four runs, three of which were earned.

Skylar Gowin pitched the final 1 2/3-innings with one strikeout, four walks, eight hits, and nine runs, seven of which were earned.

Bly led off the bottom of the first with a triple, then scored on a Nickeson single.

Ferris would double, setting up a Fluck hit that drove in Nickeson. Ferris then scored on a passed ball for the 3-0 lead.

In the third O’Connor and Millard had back to back hits for the Rams.

Carpenter would drive in Adams, who subbed in for an injured O’Connor, to make it 4-0.

Pepper got Canton’s rally going with a lead off double in the fourth.

May then singled, setting up Sechrist driving in Pepper.

After an out where Wyalusing caught May at home Sechrist would score on a passed ball.

An error off the bat of Tiffany Acla would score Trinity Acla to make it a 1-run ball game.

In the bottom half of the inning Johns led things off with a hit. After an out Nickeson would draw a walk to put two runners on.

Ferris then singled in Johns, followed by Fluck’s 3-run home run for an 8-3 lead.

Adams singled, followed by walks to Millard and Carpenter to load the bases.

A Warner sacrifice fly would bring in Adams for a 9-3 score.

Bly and Nickeson had back to back hits to lead off the fifth. A Ferris ground out with bring in Bly to make it 10-3.

Fluck drew a walk, followed by Nickeson scoring on a passed ball.

Adams and Fulmer then had back to back singles as Burgess scored on a steal of home.

After an out Harvey drove in Adams for the 13-3 score.

Canton (6-13) will travel to Montgomery on Friday while Wyalusing will prepare for the district playoffs.

It looks like Wyalusing will play Williamson in the Class AA semifinals, with Northwest taking on the winner in the title game. The Rams have played both teams this season, beating Williamson and falling to Northwest.

“We’re going to go right to business,” said Jayne. “I’m assuming we’re not going to play until the latter part of next week. With the weather and junior high games scheduled on our field all week we can’t even practice, but it will be business as usual come the first of the week with our normal defensive, and lots of hitting drills. Hopefully everybody will get healthy so that we’re ready to roll.”
