NTL TRACK & FIELD: SATURDAY DISTRICT IV PREVIEW (May 15, 2026)

Northern Tier Sports Report
Its day two of the District IV Track and Field Championships down at Milton. Most of the track finals along with half the field events will be going off at 9:30 a.m.

Wellsboro will have two finalists in the Class AA girls final with top seed Piper Hoprich and Luna Moyer, who took seventh in the prelims.

In Class AAA girls Athens' Abby Burgess took second in the prelims to make the finals.

In the Class AA boys Towanda's Jazick Brown was the third fastest qualifier in the prelims to punch his spot in the finals.

Troy's Kylee Roy and Wyalusing's Lia Fischer are the second and third seeds going into Saturday morning's final in the Class AA field.

Athens' Lizzie Gorsline qualified in the Class AAA field.

Wellsboro's Brayden Benjamin qualified in the Class AA field, taking seventh in the prelims on Thursday.

Wellsboro's Pieper Hoprich (24.82) is the top seed in this event with teammate Luna Moyer (27.15) also in the Class AA fast heat.

Other area runners in the event are Sullivan County's Addisyn Templin, and Wellsboro's Sophia Yoder.

In the Class AAA field Athens' Abby Burgess (25.23) is the second seed by .03 seconds. Teammate Bilikula Winnie will be running in the first heat.

In the Class AA boys field Wellsboro's Jonathan Carl (22.94) is the only NTL runner in the fast heat.

Other area runners are Towanda's Jazick Brown, Troy's Jasper Miller, Sullivan County's Tucker Blasi, and Wyalusing's Dominic Trowbridge.

Athens' Ryder Morley and Ryan Cook are in the first heat of the Class AAA field.

Athens' Marlene Roelle is in the first heat of the Class AAA field.

In the Class AA field Towanda's Jazick Brown (50.53) and Wellsboro's Jonathan Carl (50.53) are the third and fourth seeds in the event. NPM's Braden VanLoon is also in the fast heat.

NPM's Peter Bishop, Williamson's Joshua Teague, and Jeavon Eick, and Wellsboro's Aaron Kirk are also running in the event.

Athens' Patrick Umbert (52.31) is in the fast heat for Class AAA.

HIGH JUMP
In Class AA girls field Williamson's Raegan VanGorden (5-feet), and Wyalusing's Jenna Morningstar (5-feet) are the two highest seeds from the NTL. Also competing are Canton's Hayley Larsen, Towanda's Natalyn Morris, Troy's Zyra Houghton, and NPM's Nora Furry.

In the Class AA field its NTL at the top with Wellsboro's David Seeling (6-feet, 7-inches), NPM's Luke Kreger (6-feet, 6-inches), and Wyalusing's Dylan Johns (6-feet, 6-inches).

Also competing are NPM's Colton Pellett, Williamson's Anthony Hargarther, and Towanda's Kole Heyer and Keegan Stroud.

POLE VAULT
Towanda's Marin Maynard (10-feet) is seeded fourth in the girls Class AA field with Towanda's Cheyenne Morgan, and Troy's Parker Lee are also in the field.

Wyalusing's Jonathan Earle (13-feet, 6-inches) is seeded second in the Class AA boys field with Towanda's Tanner Vanderpool, Williamson's Troy Madison, and Wyalusing's Tyler Grover and Sullivan McCracken also in the field.

LONG JUMP
Athens' Kaitlyn Leonard is in the Class AAA girls field.

TRIPLE JUMP
NPM's Madilynn Scott (34-feet, 6 1/2-inches) is the highest seeded NTL jumper in the Class AA girls field with Wyalusing's Lia Fischer (34.feet, 3 1/2-inches) also in the top half.

Wellsboro's Isla Towey, Lauren Gehman, and Kristina Belz, Williamson's Anna Lee, and Wyalusing's Ava King are all in the field.

Troy's Cameron Morey (43-feet, 6 3/4-inches) is the second seed in the Class AA boys' field for the triple jump.

Wyalusing's Tyler Caplan (41-feet, 9 3/4-inches) and Wellsboro's David Seeling (40-feet, 4 3/4-inches) are also seeded high.

Other NTL jumpers in the event are NPM's Colton Pellett and NEB's Landon Chapman.

DISCUS
NPM's Deakon Valentine (151-feet, 2-inches) is the fourth seed in the Class AA field. Other NTL throwers are Wyalusing's Joshua Palfreyman and Jasai Latini, and Canton's Wyatt Hilton.

Athens' Annika Lezak is in the Class AAA girls field.

JAVELIN
Towanda's Brynn Woodruff (136-feet, 11-inches) is the top seed in the Class AA girls field, and is the returning district champion.

Canton's Emilia Pepper is also in the field.

Athens' Zachary Fisher is in the Class AAA boys field.

SHOT PUT
Canton's Alexis McRoberts (40-feet, 1-inch) is the top seed in the Class AA field, and is seeded beyond the district record of 39-feet, 11-inches.

Towanda's Mya Maynard (35-feet, 1 1/4-inches) and Eliana Cook (34-feet, 9 1/4-inches) are also seeded high.

Troy's Emma Mickley and Williamson's Sayde Loucks are also in the field.

After coming in second in the discus on Thursday Athens' Brenden Comstock will try his hand at the shot put on Saturday morning in the Class AAA boys field.
