NTL BASEBALL: ROUGH 6TH INNING DOOMS TOWANDA AGAINST BLOOMSBURG (May 17, 2026)

BLOOMSBURG — For five and a half innings it was a scoreless tie between Towanda and Bloomsburg, but the Panthers had a 7-run bottom sixth to pull out the 7-0 win over the Knights during the first round of the District IV, Class AAA baseball playoffs Saturday.

Lucas Vincent (2-for-3) had a multi-hit game for the Knights with Shane Maghamez (1-for-3) hitting a double. Boom Thompson (1-for-3) also had a hit.

Maghamez started, and went five scoreless innings before errors allowed Bloomsburg to get going in the sixth. He finished 5 2/3-innings with five strikeouts, three walks, five hits, and five unearned runs.

Thompson came on in relief but didn't record an out with two walks, no hits, and two runs, one of which was earned.

Brad Assante got the final out, allowing one hit.

The Knights would load the bases in the fifth with two outs but Bloomsburg got a ground out to get out of the jam.

In the sixth the Panthers did all their scoring with two outs as Towanda had three errors in the inning.

Towanda finishes the year 10-11.
