MILTON — Sullivan County's Tucker Blasi earned a second medal at the District IV Track and Field Championships Saturday.

The senior took fourth in the 200 out of the slow heat with a time of 23.23. That medal goes with his long jump medal from Thursday.

It's been an interesting season for Blasi as he's done double duty between baseball and track field. While baseball was his main sport he wanted to be a part of the first season that track and field was a sponsored sport at Sullivan County as they were just a club sport last year.

"I think it's awesome," Tucker said. "We haven't had a track team in a long time. It's been pretty awesome to see it. I feel like we're doing pretty good for not having a track team as long as we have."

They've done pretty well despite having no track and field facilities, especially as they branch out into the jumps.

"It was really fun," Blasi said about taking on the long jump this year. "My coach asked us at the beginning of the season, 'come and try long jump.' I gave it a shot, and it turned out pretty well."

Baseball was his primary sport so he missed some track meets, but he, and his brother Carter Blasi, had got to spend a lot of time together this spring as they did both spring sports.

"That was really cool," said Tucker. "I had to convince him to play baseball, but he had a lot of fun, and I had a lot of fun with it. He's pretty good, and he's going to be really good at this. Cross-country is kind of his main thing, but track, I think it's going to help him get better. I think he's going to be rally good at both."

On the girls' side Addisyn Templin earned two district medals, as well, taking sixth in both the 200 (27.33) and the 400 (1:00.71).

Zoey Reese was 19th in the 1600 (5:50.02) and 22nd in the 800 (2:37.76).
