MILTON — After a tough day in the long jump on Thursday Troy's Cameron Morey made up for it in the triple jump on Saturday, taking second to punch his ticket to the PIAA Track and Field Championships during the District IV Track and Field Championships.

Morey jumped 43-feet, 4 1/2-inches, though he was hoping to get into the 44-foot range.

"It feels good," he said about making states. "I wanted 44 but it's alright, I'll see what I got for states."

After barely breaking 40-feet on his first two jumps Morey hit 43-feet on this third, leaping out of the sand pit even before they measured as he knew it was a good one.

"I was definitely excited," Morey said.

He hit 41-feet on his fourth jump, but didn't get any further on the next two.

The senior plans on working on his form this week to try and get a PR.

"I'm going to work on form more than anything and not exploding in my first one," Morey stated. "My first jump is 20-feet, and I needed to shorten that up. 45 is just 15, 15, and 15 each phase."

Also for the boys Mason Wulff was 14th in the 800 (2:05.46), Jasper Miller Tok 19th in the 200 (24.56), and Toby Stanton was 21st in the 300 hurdles (46.44).

Their 4x400 was 10th in 3:39.60 with a team of Miller, Lucas Norton, Stanton, and Wulff.

On the girls' side Kylee Roy took fifth in the 100 hurdles at 16.47 to get on the podium.

Parker Lee just missed the podium in the pole vault, taking ninth at 8-feet, 6-inches, with Emma Mickley 10th in the shot put at 32-feet, 5 1/4-inches. Zyra Houghson (4-feet, 8-inches) was 13th in the high jump.

The girls 4x100 relay was 14th in 53.25 with a team of Haylie Grove, Lee, Roy, and Ellie Spalding.
