AOW: WYALUSING'S EARLE AND CANTON'S HALBFOERSTER CLAIM D4 TITLES, TOWANDA'S COBB AND MAYNARD QUALIFY FOR STATES IN EXCITING WEEKEND OF TRACK & FIELD (May 17, 2026)

It was quite the week for track and field athletes with some clutch performances at the District IV Track and Field Championships.
It was a busy day on the boys' side as Wyalusing's Jonathan Earle and Canton's Lawrence Halbfoerster both won district titles, with Earle in the pole vault and Halbfoerster in the 2-mile. Halbfoerster also made states in the 1600.
Towanda's Emmett Klees also made states, qualifying in the 3200 on time.
The three of them are the Male Co-Athletes of the Week.
On the girls' side the Towanda duo of Marin Maynard and Maris Cobb punched their tickets to states. Maynard was second in the pole vault while Cobb ran the state standard in the 3200, a race she took fourth in.
The duo are the Female Co-Athletes of the Week.
