NTL SOFTBALL: WYALUSING FALLS TO NORTHWEST IN D4 TITLE GAME (May 22, 2026)

WILLIAMSPORT — It wasn't how the game was supposed to go for Wyalusing softball, as their hitting cooled off against Northwest. The Rangers, though, got enough offense to push across three runs for the 3-0 win during the District IV, Class AA softball title game Thursday.

"We could not get the hits from where we usually get them," said Wyalusing coach Brett Jayne.

Northwest's Jenna Robaczewksi allowed just one hit for the Rangers with one walk and eight strikeouts to get the win. At one point she retired 17 straight batters from late in the first through the fourth.

"She did pitch a nice game," Jayne said. "She moved the ball around, and sometimes the hits don't come easy. I was really looking forward to them hitting the ball well. We did put the ball in play, just not like we normally do."

Robaczewski induced several ground outs and her defense had her back with just one error on the day.

For Wyalusing Addison Fluck gave up five hits with four walks but also struck out five in six innings of action.

Ellie Adams (1-for-2) had the lone Wyalusing hit.

Northwest scored two in the third and one in the sixth for their three runs.

Wyalusing threatened in the top of the first. Addyson Bly drew a lead-off walk, but was nabbed at second on a Treanna Nickeson grounder.

Josie Ferris had a hard hit error that put her and Nickeson on second and third with one out.

Robaczewski would get a strikeout, then ground out to get out of the jam.

Adams would get a hit to lead off the sixth but was stranded at second base.

Robczewski finished the game by retiring six straight Rams to secure the win.

In the bottom of the third Northwest went with two outs as Ava Ruckle singled followed by Robaczewski drawing a walk.

Natalia Ninatti looked to break the game open with a home run but it was called back foul.

She did get an RBI single one pitch later, scoring Ruckle, while Robaczewski would find home on a passed ball.

In the sixth Callie Moyer led off the at bat by drawing a walk, then a bunt by Olivia Nevel flummoxed the Wyalusing defense as both Rangers were safe.

An Abby Miller ground out brought home Moyer to make it 3-0.

"I was really surprised the bunt caught us off guard," said Jayne. "It was a little harder bunt, and I think that caught us because they over pursued a little bit. They've been rock solid on the bunt all year."

The Rams will say good-bye to four seniors that have been the backbone of the team - Addyson Bly, Nickeson, Fluck, and Kyla Carpenter.

"I can't say enough about the way they nurtured the other girls, especially the freshmen," said Jayne. "They've worked them very well. It's a team effort no matter how you look at it. It's a shame to see Bly's career come to an end, she has over 100 hits and 100 runs scored in her career -  you don't get those players very often. She had one error all season.

'Nickeson had a great season at bat and defensively," Jayne continued. "Carpenter, I can't say nothing about her, she's pretty solid all the time. Fluck has had a great year. The only thin that really hurts a little bit I know she's fighting a little sore muscle on the shoulder, which I think that hurt a little bit."

He's proud of the way they fought to the end.

"They battled, they didn't quit," said Jayne. "I can't ask for no more than that."
