Behind a strong senior class the Wyalusing softball team competed for the NTL Large School title, and reached the District IV, Class AA title game in 2026.
"I thought the year was a great success," said Wyalusing coach Brett Jayne. "I'm sorry to see our four seniors leaving as they have had great careers, and were great mentors to our younger players. Hopefully, we can keep building the program to keep being successful."
The Rams went 14-6 during the regular season as they opened up the season with a thrilling 2-1 loss to Towanda.
They came back with back to back wins over Troy (2-1) and NPL (4-0), then lost a tough one to Athens (5-1).
That was followed by a 5-game win streak kicked off with a win over Blue Ridge (7-4). Then went on to beat NEB (14-0), CV (16-1), District IV, Class A champions Montgomery (8-0), and Williamson (8-0).
Three losses followed - NPL (1-0), Towanda (8-0), and Northwest (13-7) - but the Rams struck back with another 5-game win streak. Wyalusing beat Troy (9-2), eventual league champs Athens (4-0), Wellsboro (16-6), Sayre (16-1), and Canton (9-1).
The streak came to an end with a loss to Wellsboro (11-4), while they finished the season with a win over Canton (13-3).
In the opening round of districts they pulled away from Williamson (7-3), but then fell to Northwest (3-0) in the title game.
"I thought the team was competitive in our very tough league," remarked Jayne. "I felt we started stronger this year, and finished well - hopefully we can do the same next year."
Addyson Bly hit .441 this year to lead the Rams with a team high 31 runs scored, seven doubles, and five triples, while Addison Fluck hit .355 with a team high 17-RBI, six doubles, and three home runs.
Fluck also had a .23 ERA in 123 2/3-innings pitched with 140 strikeouts.
Treanna Nickeson hit .349 with 28 runs scored, and four doubles as freshman Riley O'Connor hit .283 with 13 runs scored.
Kyla Carpenter added 13 runs scored, with Josie Ferris hitting five doubles, and 17-RBI.
The Rams will lose their four multi-year stalwarts with Bly, Fluck, Nickeson, and Carpenter but return key players O'Connor, Ferris, Callee Warner, Emily Johns, and Kirra Millard to build around for next year.
