WELLSBORO — Towanda Majors Softball lost to Wellsboro, 5-2, during the opening round of District 15 bracket play Tuesday.

Wellsboro built a 4-0 lead after the third inning with Towanda getting on the scoreboard with a run in the fourth.

The teams traded runs in the sixth for the 5-2 final.

Lily Strope (2-for-3) had a double and scored twice as Brielle Pratt (2-for-3) drove in both runs.

Sloane Stevens (1-for-2) also had a hit.

Stevens struck out nine in the loss.
