ATHENS — Canton Minors Softball All-stars dropped an 11-3 contest to Athens during District 15 pool play action Thursday.

It was 3-1 Athens after one, though Canton cut it to 4-3 after the third inning. Athens would use a 7-run fifth to pull away.

Leah R (3-for-3) had a double with a run scored for Canton with Ellie L (1-for-2), and Alice C also scoring runs.

Kendall G (1-for-3) had an RBI with Madison S (1-for-3) also getting a hit.

Leah R struck out eight in the loss. 

Canton hosts Towanda on Saturday with a 3 p.m. start.
