TOWANDA — Towanda used a fast start to down Sayre, 12-1 in fourth innings, during District 15 Majors baseball pool play action Saturday.

Towanda led 7-1 after one, then scored two more runs in the second. They tacked on three more in the third to secure the win.

Cameron W (1-for-1) had a home run with two runs scored, and 2-RBI, as Cayson V (2-for-2) had two doubles with two runs scored, and an RBI.

Colton M (1-for-1) drove in two runs with Logan M (1-for-2) hitting a double with a run scored, and 2-RBI.

Jagger V (1-for-2) had a double with a run scored, and an RBI while Brayden C (1-for-1) scored twice.

Cruz O also scored twice as Bentley F, and Grant N both scored.

Cayson started, and went 2 2/3-innings with seven strikeouts, as Cruz went the final 1 1/3-innings with three strikeouts.

Towanda will host Athens on Monday.
