LEROY — Canton Majors baseball dropped their pool play opener to Athens, 14-1 in four innings, during District 15 action Saturday.

Athens led 3-0 after one, then scored seven in the second, and four more in the third. Canton got on the scoreboard with a run in the fourth.

Hunter B (1-for-1) had the Canton hit with Avery M scoring the run. Weston D driving in a run.

Sawyer S started, and went one-third of an inning with one strikeout, while Hunter went the next two-thirds with one strikeout.

Tanner G struck out two in 1 1/3-innings of action, as Tommy T went the final two-thirds with one strikeout.

Canton will travel to Sayre on Monday.
