TOWANDA — Towanda led at one point but fell to Athens, 8-3, during District 15 Minors Baseball action Sunday.

It was scoreless going into the third inning when Towanda pushed two across for a 2-0 lead.

Athens responded with five runs in the fourth for a 3-run lead. They added two more in the fifth to make it 7-2.

The teams traded runs in the sixth for the 8-3 final.

Rayden Bailey (2-for-3) had a double, a triple, and a run scored for Towanda as Greyson Irving (1-for-2), Cole Williams (1-for-3), and Callan Willey (1-for-3) all had hits.

Maddox Hicks, and Cole Spencer both scored with Kash Olivera driving in a run.

Chase Lewis started, and went 2 1/3-innings with four strikeouts as Bailey went an inning with two strikeouts. Williams tossed two innings with two strikeouts, and Hicks went the final two innings, striking out two.

Towanda travels to Troy on Tuesday with a 6 p.m. start.
