SAYRE — A slow start hurt Canton as they fell to Sayre, 10-4, during District 15 Majors Baseball pool play action Tuesday.

Sayre led 4-2 after one, then scored three more in the second for a 7-2 lead. They made it 8-2 after five.

The teams traded runs in the sixth for the 6-run difference.

Jake (1-for-2) had a double with a run scored, as Grayson, Sawyer, and Hunter (1-for-2) all scored. Tanner drove in a run, with Weston (1-for-2) getting a hit.

Barrett started, and went one-third of an inning with one strikeout. Tanner went the next 1 2/3-innings with four strikeouts, as Hunter pitched 3 2/3-innings, striking out seven.

Sawyer went the final one-third with one strikeout.

Canton will host Towanda on Wednesday.
