YOUTH: TOWANDA PULLS AWAY FROM CANTON IN MAJORS BASEBALL (June 24, 2026)

CANTON — Towanda pulled away from Canton, 7-3, during District 15 Majors Baseball action Wednesday.
It was 2-0 Towanda after one with Canton scoring twice in the second to knot things up.
It stayed that way until the top of the fourth when Towanda scored two more runs to take a 4-2 lead.
Canton cut it to 4-3 with a run in the bottom half, but a 3-run fifth from Towanda helped them put the game away.
Ben Tavani (2-for-3) and Colton Mulcahy (2-for-2) both had a double and an RBI as Cayson Vanderpool (1-for-2) drove in two runs while scoring twice.
Will Eberlin scored and drove in a run as Cruz Olvera crossed home twice. Brayden Campbell, and Cameron Whetson (1-for-1) both scored as Grant Nash drove in a run.
Logan McNeal (1-for-2) had a hit.
Jagger Vargason started, and went 1 2/3-innings with one strikeouts. McNeal went the rest of the way with 11 strikeouts.
For Canton Tommy Thompson (1-for-1) had a double with a run scored, and an RBI as Barrett Pepper and Weston Driscoll also scored. Christian Moore drove in a run.
Sawyer Schultz started, and went two-thirds of an inning with two strikeouts. Avery Moore pitched the next 3 2/3-innings with seven strikeouts, while Christian Moore tossed the final 1 2/3-innings with three strikeouts.
Both teams advance to bracket play, which starts on Friday. Towanda hosts Elkland, while Canton travels to Wellsboro.
