YOUTH: RTL PULLS AWAY FROM NEBALL TO STAY ALIVE (June 28, 2026)

WINDHAM — RTL used a 7-run third inning to pull away from NEBall during District 33 Minors Softball elimination bracket action Sunday.

It was 3-2 NEBall after one, with RTL taking a 5-4 lead going into the third inning.

NEBall went back on top with a 2-run top third but by the end of the inning RTL led 12-6. RTL would score three more runs in the fifth for the 9-run win.

Hattie Sheldon (4-for-4) had a home run, a triple, 2-RBI, and four runs scored for RTL with Evie Howard (3-for-3) scoring three times while driving in a run.

Everly Bolles (2-for-3) scored twice, and had an RBI, as Joanna Champluvier (2-for-3) had 3-RBI with two runs scored.

Cambria Chesla (1-for-2) scored twice, and drove in two runs while Madelyn White (1-for-3) scored, and drove in a run.

Bexlie Whipple also crossed home.

Bolles started, and went an inning with two strikeouts, while Elexa Cobb tossed two innings with three strikeouts. Howard pitched the final three innings with eight strikeouts.

For NEBall Raegan Tompkins (1-for-3) scored twice and drove in a run with Martha Engle also scoring and getting an RBI.

Brooklyn, Reese Vantassel, and Gillian Hodges all scored.

Engle started, and went 3 2/3-innings with eight strikeouts, as Tompkins tossed the final 1 1/3-innings with three strikeouts.

RTL will face Tunkhannock on Tuesday back at NEBall. If RTL wins they force a winner-take-all for the district title on Thursday, if Tunkhannock wins they claim the district title.
