YOUTH: RTL MINORS SOFTBALL RALLIES PAST TUNKHANNOCK TO KEEP DISTRICT TITLE HOPES ALIVE (June 30, 2026)

WINDHAM — The RTL Minors Softball All-stars were singing 'Stayin' Alive' as they rallied in the sixth to edge Tunkhannock, 10-9, during District 33 action Tuesday.
The win forces a winner-take-all title game on Wednesday, back NEBall, with a 5:30 p.m. start.
Tunkhannock led 3-2 after one, then scored another run in the second. A 5-run top third saw RTL go up 7-4, with Tunkhannock cutting it to 7-5 with a run during the bottom half.
After a scoreless fourth Tunkhannock out scored RTL 4-1 in the fifth to take a 9-8 lead.
RTL had last laugh with a 2-run Hattie Sheldon double. In the bottom half Tunkhannock saw their first two batters reach but three straight strikeouts from Evie Howard ended the game.
Sheldon (3-for-4) had 2-RBI with two runs scored while Arabella Doty (2-for-3) had 4-RBI with a run scored.
Elexa Cobb (2-for-2) scored three times with 2-RBI with Howard (1-for-3), Cambria Chesla, Reese Welles, and Joanne Champluvier all scoring.
Bexlie Whipple (1-for-3) drove in a run.
Cobb started, and went 4 1/3-innings with 11 strikeouts, while Howard went the final 1 2/3-innings with four strikeouts.
