WINDHAM — RTL Minors Softball lost a heartbreaker to Tunkhannock, 9-5, during the District 33 winner-take-all final on Wednesday.

RLT had rallied for a 10-9 win on Tuesday to force this game, and jumped out to a 4-0 lead midway through the first inning.

Tunkhannock rallied with five runs in the bottom half to go up by one.

RTL was able to sneak a run in during the second to knot things up at 5-all, which is how it stayed until the bottom of the fourth, when Tunkhannock pushed three across for an 8-5 lead.

Tunkhannock got another run in during the bottom of the fifth.

RTL had bases loaded and no outs in the top of the sixth, but Tunkhannock was able to hold them.

Elexa Cobb (2-for-3) scored as Madelyn White (2-for-3) drove in a run.

Hattie Sheldon scored twice with Cambria Chesla (1-for-2), and Arabella Doty (1-for-2) both crossing home. Doty also had an RBI.

Cobb started, and went three innings with eight strikeouts, as Evie Howard tossed the final two innings with four strikeouts.

RTL finishes the season 4-3.
