EAST TROY — Troy Junior Softball struck the first blow in their Section III face-off with Lewisburg Tuesday, beating them 9-1.

Troy just needs to win one of the next two games to take the title as they host Lewisburg on Wednesday with a 5:30 p.m. start.

Lewisburg led 1-0 after an inning, with Troy taking the lead with a 2-run second. They added two more in the third, then broke the game open with a 4-run fifth.

Troy scored a run in the sixth for the 9-1 final.

Lily Weaver (4-for-4) was perfect from the plate while scoring twice. She also went the first four innings with six strikeouts.

Aubrey Knapp (3-for-3) doubled with 2-RBI, and two runs scored, as Haleigh Shultz (3-for-3) also doubled with 4-RBI, and a run scored.

Blaklee Brown (3-for-4) scored twice, and drove in a run. Brown went the final three innings with three strikeouts.

Josie Van Noy (2-for-3) scored, as Kelsey Estep scored and drove in a run. Lydia Blasz (1-for-4), Mya Monroe (1-for-2), and Mya McClure (1-for-3) all had hits.
