HORSEHEADS, N.Y. — The Lady Lightning Blue 14U Softball team claimed the Horseheads Blast Tournament Title on Sunday.

Lightning went 4-1 over the weekend beating Lady Chaos (17-1) and Maple City (13-0) on Saturday while falling to Lady AP Elite (10-3).

On Sunday they scored 45 runs over two games to take the title, beating Lady Chaos (22-0) and Lady AP Elite (23-10).

In the opener against Lady Chaos Karmyn McPherson (3-for-4) doubled, tripled, drove in three runs while scoring once as Delaney Kendall (2-for-3) tripled with 2-RBI, and two runs scored.

Madilyn Callear (2-for-3) had a triple with two runs scored, and an RBI, as Ayla Wheeler (2-for-3) and Raya Preston 92-for-3) both scored twice with an RBI.

Zoey Thetga (2-for-3) also scored twice while driving in a run as Addy Jankowsky (1-for-3) and Alexis McMurray (1-for-2) both also crossed home twice. McMurray drove in a run as well.

Maci Campbell (2-for-2) had 2-RBI with a run scored, and Lucy Proseus scored while driving in a run.

Preston struck out nine in the win, allowing two walks, one hit, and one unearned run.

In the loss to Lady AP Elite McPherson (2-for-3) had a double with an RBI as Callear (1-for-2), Preston (1-for-2), and Proseus (1-for-2) all scored. McMurray (1-for-2), and Thetga (1-for-2) each had an RBI with Campbell (1-for-2) also getting a hit.

Campbell started, and went three innings allowing five hits, and six runs, two of which were earned. Callear tossed the final two innings, with three strikeouts, one walk, four hits, and four earned runs.

In the win over Maple City Thetga (2-for-3) had a double, a triple, 3-RBI, and two runs scored with Callear (2-for-3) tripling and scoring twice.

McPherson (2-for-3) doubled with 2-RBI, and two runs scored, as Campbell (2-for-2) also drove in two runs.

Preston (1-for-1) scored twice with an RBI as McMurray (1-for-2) had 2-RBI with a run scored.

Proseus (1-for-1), and Jankowsky both scored with Wheeler crossing home twice while driving in a run.

Wheeler struck out eight in the win, allowing just two walks.

In the Sunday win over Lady Chaos Wheeler (3-for-4) scored twice while driving in a run as Callear (3-for-3) had a double with three runs scored, and 2-RBI.

Proseus (3-for-3) doubled with 3-RBI, and three runs scored, while Thetga (1-for-2) and a double with two runs scored.

Preston (2-for-2) had 2-RBI with a run scored with Campbell (2-for-3) crossing home three times while driving in two runs.

McPherson (1-for-3) had 3-RBI with a run scored, Kendall (1-for-3) scored twice, and had an RBI, and Jankowsky (1-for-2) had 2-RBI with three runs scored.

Callear struck out three as she faced just 11 batters over three innings.

In the title game win Preston 94-for-6) doubled twice with 4-RBI and two runs scored, with Wheeler (4-for-6) doubling, scoring four times, and driving in a run.

McPherson (4-for-5) had 2-RBI with four runs scored, as Callear (3-for-6) had a double with 5-RBI, and four runs scored.

Thetga (4-for-6) doubled twice with 2-RBI, and three runs scored, as Kendall (2-for-4) had 3-RBI and scored twice.

McMurray (2-for-6) tripled, while driving in two runs, as Campbell (1-for-4) scored twice. Jankowsky (1-for-2) scored, and drove in a run, with Proseus (1-for-3) also crossing home.
